Protector of Texas Rivers Challenges Castroville
10/08/2008
By Elena Serna

For so many years BexarMet flew under the radar of the Express-News. Remember that so many of the problems of BexarMet were created over many years. But Districts 6 (23486 or 27%) and Districts 1 (8468 or 10%) and 2 (14455 or 16%) make up more than 52% of the total customers and the revenue streams from these 3 out of 7 districts. These districts share in common effective leaders that are strong and caring in Lesley Wenger(Dist 6), Jose Gallegos(Dist 1) and Andy Carr (Dist 2). They just keep asking the hard questions and when the media actually reports more than minimum attention to these bad trustee's things begin to happen. We dont need to throw the baby out with the bath water! How would SAWS look if the Express-News spent as much energy as they have scrutinized BexarMet. How many CEO's of SAWS has there been in the last 5 years. Is not the SAWS board dominated by developer interests. Give me a board that all looks the same and you wont hear many different tunes like you do from the diverse elected board of BexarMet!
